Can a GM car with the Passkey 3 ignition be stolen without the key? I have read in several places that
taking a Passkey 3 equipped car without the key is impossible, but I'm skeptical about that claim. I thank anyone in advance for any answer. |

I've heard that thieves can get around it.
Not sure how they do it though. I don't have definitive info on it.

Passkey can't be "bypassed" but if you are creative....
You need a vats interrogator, blank uncut vats keys (all 15 values), basic locksmith tools 1) Pull steering wheel/lockplate/etc... remove lock cyl. 2) strip the cylinder of wafers etc. so it will spin freely with an uncut key. 3) install lock cylider back into column 4) using easily available "VATS passkey interrogator" device (slips over your "key") "interrogate" away. Requires an attempt start for every value: 15 values. Interogator device will inform you what value of resistor key you need..... may get lucky on value one or may take 'till value to (45 mins..) 5) when you find out the value... take the corresponding uncut vats key and use it to start vehicle. Presto.... questions? comments? |

Thieves can get around it if you have a non-factory installed remote start installed in the vehicle.....otherwise your pretty safe from having it stolen off the street. If it is stolen you can rest assured it was by a professional car thief and not some street juvenile looking for a joyride...
